At the public hearing for the Monument Sanitation District on November 20, 2024, the Board of Directors voted to increase the monthly wastewater fees beginning January 1, 2025, as follows.

Residential wastewater service: flat rate will change from $40.00 to $45.00 per month with a $2.00 paper statement fee being added. The statement fee will be waived if signed up for electronic statements.

Commercial wastewater service: flat rate will change from $40.00 to $45.00 for the first 5000 gallons and $6.10 per 1000 gallons thereafter per month with a $2.00 paper statement fee being added. The statement fee will be waived if signed up for electronic statements.

The new rates will take effect on January 1, 2025, and will be reflected on your statement dated February 1, 2025. For those customers that pay via Bill Pay through your bank or by other electronic means be sure to change your reoccurring payments to $45.00 + $2.00 for paper statements or $45.00 for electronic statements.

The rate increase was required, due to the rising cost of maintaining the wastewater collection system. Also, the rising cost of treatment of the wastewater at the wastewater plant (TriLakes Wastewater Treatment Facility).
